Oakleys room tour.
I think its safe to say that this room has a very special place in my heart, I remember standing in this room before we started any transformation, when it was still used as a dumping ground (that before children life when I had so much stuff and didn't know where to put it) I couldn't believe that we were about to embark on our first nursery. Summer 2014, Ed Sheeran's album was on repeat and all I ever think of when I hear 'Thinking out loud' is me morning, day and night sitting in here with a vision and a tub of paint. Being told I shouldn't go up the ladder when Daniel was at work but I totally did, I was addicted to this room and spent way more time in it then I should have. It just holds such special memories for me and brings back those feelings of us waiting on the arrival of our first born and it was so lovely to decorate it throughout the 9 months of pregnancy, constantly adding to the room and finding new treasures to put in there.
We painted the room before we knew Oakley's gender, Daniel painted the stripes on the wall that are always mistaken for wallpaper because he did such an amazing job. He used an electric level that had a lazer, that way the lines were spot on. The colours were Crown from a really nice neutral range they had at the time. We had white wooden blinds fitted and picked a grey furniture set from Mamas and Papas, I loved the shade of grey and it was a refreshing change from the all the white or wooden sets. We then waited to find out babies gender so we could get stuck in and accessorize. From 18 weeks we began making the room a special space for our baby BOY.
I will tag as many item as I can for you to find, If I cant find items I will try and find an alternative for you too... Enjoy!
Errrmmm so If you didn't realise already there's a fox theme going on, it started unintentionally but a few friends had told me that when pregnant they were drawn to one animal/character and they were addicted to adding touches of it into their nursery's too. Well mine was a sweet Jelly Cat fox, Linked HERE. Once I had him in 2 different sizes, one for display and one small one to take to the hospital with me I became a little addicted to that touch of orange that started to brighten up a very neutral room. Now here we are 3 years later and I have managed to source a pretty impressive collection if I do say so myself.
